With more than 60 years of experience in development and designing of hydropower projects, Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering provides fully integrated project planning, feasibility, designing and project management, to the clients in hydropower sector. It is regional leader in the field of hydropower, dams, reservoirs and dam safety.
Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering has been engaged in more than 20 countries all over the world on power-related projects - ranging from 20 MW to more than 2000 MW. Through the engagement on 54 plants and 64 dams, Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering has contributed to development of more than 20000 MW of hydropower generation (studies and construction of new plants) globally. Total reservoir capacity of the dams Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering has designed so far is more than 4 billion m3.
Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering has taken part in some of the biggest hydropower projects in South Eastern Europe, North Africa and South America.
In 1964 Serbian and Romanian engineering teams commenced construction of Djerdap I - a joint hydropower and navigation system on the Danube River. Preparation of the designs and supervision over construction of this remarkable structure were entrusted to Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering. The entire project was put into operation in 1972.
The dam is a concrete, gravity structure - 1278 m long and 61 m high. It has 14 spillway bays - 25 m wide, thus enabling (together with outlets and turbines) a discharge of 22500m3/s. Navigation locks have dimensions of 310 x 34 x 4.5 m. Hydropower plant has installed capacity of 2100 MW (12 x 175 MW).
The Haditha Dam or Qadisiya Dam is an earth-fill dam on the Euphrates River, north of Haditha (Iraq), which creates Qadisiyah Lake. The dam is somewhat over 9 kilometres (5.6 mi) long and 57 meters (187 ft) high. The purpose of this dam is enabling of electric power generation; training of the Euphrates River flow and providing of water for irrigation purposes.
It is the second-largest hydro power facility within the power system in Iraq, after the Mosul Dam. The Haditha hydro power plant has been designed and constructed by Energoprojekt Hidroinzenjering. Its installed capacity is 660 MW (6 x 110 MW).
The dam is 185 m high, arch concrete structure, with double curvature. It has underground powerhouse with installed capacity of 280 MW (4 x 75 MW).
The dam is rockfill structure on the Ceyhan River, with height of 95 m. Hydropower plant has installed capacity of 138 MW (3 x 46 MW).
The Chira-Piura Water Management System is situated in the most northern part of Peru, in the lower part of flow of the Chira and the Piura Rivers, which run into the Pacific Ocean. The Poechos Hydro Power Project has been constructed on the Poechos irrigation dam, which is located in the Piura district - a part of the northern Peruvian province of Sullana, approximately 30km from Ecuador border. The Terms of Reference implied revitalization of the Piura valley (which had a shortage of water) and providing of modern irrigation system for approximately 35,000 ha of arable land.
The engineering solution was based on accumulating surplus water from upper part of the Chira basin into the Poechos Irrigation System, and transporting of a part of water from this accumulation into the Piura basin, by means of a 55 m-long headwater channel. The Poechos dam is a rockfill structure on the Chira River, 50 m high and with the crest length of 9 km. The reservoir storage capacity amounts to 1billion m3.
King Talal Dam
The King Talal Dam is a large rockfill dam in the hills of northern Jordan, across the Zarqa River, with the height of 119 m. Reservoir storage capacity amounts to 48 million m3.
Construction of the King Talal dam started in 1971 and the original construction was completed in 1977. In 1984, in order to meet the country's increased water demands, the works related to heightening the dam began and the project that was completed in 1988.
The dam is a rockfill structure on the Ibar River, with the height of 108 m and the crest length of 520 m. Reservoir storage capacity amounts to 370 m3.
